About this piece

Lidded box with an enamel of Henriette Marty. The traditional brass lidded box has an enamelled top with a geometric, futuristic decor of octagonal shapes in various shades of blue and rose-red tones. It is a design made around 1930.

The box is signed with 'H. Marty, Limoges'.

Biography:
Henriette Marty (France, 1902-1996), just like her father, the enameller and designer Alexandre Marty (1876-1943), worked from 1924 for Camille Fauré in Limoges, she also had her own studio and worked as an independent artist.

She learned the trade from an early age by spending a lot of time in her father's studio. She had clearly inherited her father's talent. Alexandre Marty worked closely with Camille Fauré between 1920-1925.
Henriette was also trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Limoges, where she was regarded as an outstanding student.

Her designs are modern, stylized. She mainly worked in the Art Deco and Modernism style.

Her work and designs are loved by collectors and can be seen at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Museum for Decorative Art in Berlin and Musée des Emaux in Limoges.
