About this piece

Very atmospheric still life by the German artist Michael Jungheim (Düsseldorf, 1896-1970). The original title is "Kastanien mit Zitronen", or "Chestnut branches with lemon". It is painted with oil paint on hardboard, at least I suspect so, it could also be cardboard.
The painting was probably painted between 1930-1955 and is framed.

The painting is signed at the bottom right with "Michael Jungheim", on the back is written in pencil "Michael Jungheim, Duesseldorf, Aachenerstr. 122. Kastanien mit zitronen."
