About this piece

Bronze small bowl or vase held by a woman. She holds the bottom of her dress so that the fabric falls around the bowl which create a nice movement.

This is a fine example of Art Nouveau with the elegance and the asymmetry in the design. The quality is also excellent.

The bowl is made in 2 parts, the bottom is separately made and is screwed and secured to the bronze that is cast and patinated in a deep brown colour. The bowl can be used, as a vase or for instance trinkets or other small objects, but is also very worthwhile as a decorative object.

It is a design from around 1900, the style of the work is reminiscent of the work of Gustav Gurschner, who designed for La Maison Moderne, among others.
However, it is not signed and this way of designing was very popular in the Art Nouveau period.
