About this piece

Beautiful bronze dancer that is clearly a dancer by Theo Vos. The sculpture, however, is not signed.

The movement in the sculpture, the headdress, the stylized, flowing lines in this sculpture are very recognizable as the work of Theo Vos.

His dancers are inspired by symbolism, especially the work of Jan Toorop, the Javanese dance are among his most famous works.

This bronze has a very nice old patina.

Condition

Excellent, small damage on the bottom, probably because the bronze has taken from a pedestal or trophy.
