About this piece

Sweet and rare Art Nouveau vase made of enamel on copper with a decoration of cornflowers. Between the cornflowers are a few glass insects fixed on the enamel, a ladybug and a beetle.
The quality is beautiful, the vase is made in the Art Nouveau period. This vase was exhibited at one of the Paris Salons between 1895 and 1904.

The vase is signed on the side with "Georges-Jean" and on the bottom with "Les Essarts-le-Roi".

Biography:

Born in Versailles, Jean Georges was active in the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century. He signed his work with Georges-Jean. He worked for Les-Essarts-le-Roi, among others. He has also exhibited his enamel works several times at the Paris Salons and on the 1900 World Exhibition. His enamels can be found in various museums, including the Berliner Kunstgewerbemuseum and the Musée Petit Palais in Paris.
